Who is Monica ... the name and face behind the Aussie Dog Friendly Business Directory?

In brief ... I am 100% 'Australian Made' from 100% imported ingredients (lol lol) my father is German and my mother is French. Both independently emigrated to Australia in the 1960s, they met at the local dance hall (as you do), married, and voila ... here I am (and my brother too).

My first home was in the very multi-cultural suburb of Cabramatta and over time, my family moved to Toongabbie then to Castle Hill and then to their beautiful property in Dural. As you can read, I am proud of my parents and all of their hard work, as well as, the opportunities they provided my brother and me.

After high school (back in the 80s), I was not sure what I wanted to do, so I decided to work full time with Brashs Music which became a springboard to developing my career within the music industry. Over 10 years, I worked as one of their store managers in various locations across Sydney, then I progressed to working in music publishing, music licensing, and then completed that music season in album recordings. My extensive retail experience then provided me with the opportunity to work for a UK multi-national as their National Retail Coordinator. As an experienced administrator and manager, I was then approached to work in a completely different industry 'Allied Health'.  After a number of years in this field, it was time for another career change at age 41. It was time to enlist into the Royal Australia Air Force as a 'Personnel Capability Specialist'. After serving my four-year tenure which included a deployment to the Middle East, I decided it was time to move on and work for myself. But what would I do??  mmm ... Within four months from discharging from the military, the initial idea of the Aussie Dog Friendly Business Directory presented itself while driving along the Leichhardt Highway in QLD. I am happily married to a current serving member in the ADF who has proudly served in multiple tours to Afghanistan with his dogs.
